I needed self-powered speakers for my MP3 players, smart phones, music devices and a simple setup for my backyard theater. A friend recommended the AudioEngine A5, during my research, I ran into the M-Audio AV40's. I read as much as I can about the AV40's and saw lots of references to the BX5A's. I went to my local music stores, tested and compared them. The A5's look a little better but I cannot ignore the price and sound quality of M-Audio's. I bought these BX5A's and completely blown away by the sound of the music coming out of my portable devices. Music from Pandora sounds really good. As soon as it gets nice out here in the NW suburbs of Chicago.
