This provides much better sound on my Sony DMV, only problem is it doesn't work in the mic/light holder on top of the camera because the shoe is different, and if you stick it up there it sticks out to where it shows up on the screen when I use my attached wide angle lens. Still, I can make it work with some kind of bracket. I look forward to using it outside more to see how the directionality helps eliminate noise there too.
