Sandisk 16GB Ultra CF memory card - 30MB/s 200x (SDCFH-016G-P36, Retail Package) Buy Now

I got this so that I could do go longer without changing cards on my Canon 5D Mk II. It came quickly and handles the storage needs I've got with my camera. As I usually shoot RAW and minimal jpeg compression, the space fills up quickly. I've only shot a bit of HD video with the camera, but that will change now. 600 or so stills taken on a 4 day trip to DC gobbled some 9 Gigs of storage--at least I didn't have to swap out a pile of 4 meg cards as I did in the past!Get more detail about Sandisk 16GB Ultra CF memory card - 30MB/s 200x (SDCFH-016G-P36, Retail Package).

Cheap SanDisk 16GB Extreme Pro CF memory card - UDMA 90MB/s 600x (SDCFXP-016G-P91, Retail Package)

If you're taking photos of little Suzie holding up her spelling bee award then you don't need a fast CF card. If you're shooting sports photos, though, that speed is the difference between staying in business or putting your gear for sale on eBay.

Here's an example: I shoot world class track & field. With the older "slow" cards it would take my camera 42 seconds to write the 21 RAW images from the buffer on to the card. While that may not be a problem for most people, if I were shooting Jeremy Wariner who's running his 400 meter race in just 43+ seconds then I need to worry.

With these super fast cards it now takes my newer camera only 6 seconds to write the 28 images in the buffer.

No grey hair and eBay doesn't get my business.

Fast cards are nice and these cards are fast.Get more detail about SanDisk 16GB Extreme Pro CF memory card - UDMA 90MB/s 600x (SDCFXP-016G-P91, Retail Package).

I was using a 4 GB Extreme prior and very happy with the product but found on a 'days shoot' I would get fill the card and have to switch from RAW to JPEG if I was to capture the last couple of images. Thus I up-graded to the 8 GB and this performed as advertised. It is great having the faster write speed too!Get more detail about Sandisk 8GB Extreme CF memory card - UDMA 60MB/s 400x (SDCFX-008G-A61, Retail Package).
