I set my wire stripper at 0.085" diameter and it cut perfectly thru the insulation without damaging any wire strands. So I'm thinking it's definitely 12 gauge plus it looks thicker & better than some old monster 16 gauge that I replaced with this new Boss 12 gauge wire. My only concern is I ended up using all 100 ft in my 17ft x 15ft bonus rm installing some rear surround sound speakers and replacing the 2 side speaker wires... kinda makes me question the 100ft length (hmmmmm).
