This is my second H15. Our are is prone to voltage drops especially in summer when A/C is running. Voltage regulation was key feature. Tried less expensive products but they make a fair amount of noise when switch VR on/off. The H15 makes noise too, but is quieter and it switches less agressively. When this kit first arrived, I immediately thought it was the wrong item. The guitar player on the front threw me off for a second. Then I realized it was my green screen kit and they were showing what it could do.

Included in this package are two 500-watt photoflood lights, two collapsable softboxes, the 7 foot tall light stands, and a 9'x 10' green screen. It also comes with a 30 day trial of Adobe Premiere Elements 7. Additionally, you'll need your own camera (of course - video or photographic), a full version of some editing software, and a way to hang up the screen. Therein lies the problem: While its obvious you wouldn't expect a camera in the box, I do expect this package to supply a way to hang the screen and provide software to edit what I produce. It does advertise itself a complete kit.

So I have come up with some ways to hang the screen:
1) On my shower courtain rod with clips (very creative, but awkward)
2) Pinned to the drywall. You'll need a rather large wall for this.
3) Duct-taped to the drywall (not recommended).
4) Buy a real backdrop stand (obviously the correct way)

Overall, this kit is just short of excellent for the beginner. The ability to use it as a green screen works as advertised, assuming you have capable software. the included software is dated and will only work for 30 days. What excites me the most though, is now I want to use the flood lights and softboxes with a yet-unpurchased backgroud stand. This could easily be turned into a home portrait studio for the amatuer photographer. The mic puts out a low signal. This is correct for use with
Digital camcorders, most of which do not have a mic preamp
in them so they require a pre-amped mic.

I plug this into the side input on my laptop sometimes and
it captures a nice quality sound but the volume is low.
I sometimes play guitar into this mic too (with the laptop)
and again, the sound is good, but too quiet.

I have also tried plugging this camera into an external
soundcard box (Firewire audio interface) and in this application
it works nicely for capturing accordion. I haven't tried
it for vocals. Probably the real issue is the audio-input
jack on the laptop and perhaps the soundcard in the laptop
as well. External audio interfaces run on Firewire and USB2.0
and start at about $30. The argument is that laptop soundcards
underperform in recording use because the card shares resources
with the CPU. If you use a desktop you can plug a new soundcard
into a PCI slot, or use an external box. The argument for
an external soundcard box with inputs/outputs on it flows
along the notion that the fans in a PC are noisy so it's better
to have the soundcard outside.

I agree with some of the other reviewer who say it has a
bit of a "digital" sound to it. Not a warm-sounding mic
but nice to have and not expensive. Seems very durable

I had been looking for a battery back up for my iPhone and wanted one with high enough capacity for multiple charges, easy to use and has decent looks. The Gum Pro Plus has delivered in all areas. Since having it I have used it several times to recharge my iPhone or used it to maintain my current charge. Hooking up the battery for charging both itself and to the iPhone are easy and intuitive. If you can sync you iPhone your over qualified to use tis device, its that easy. I also like a a battery backup that uses a cable as opposed to hooking directly to the phone. I don't want to risk breaking the dock or adding bulk to the phone. This battery fits nicely in my pocket (its lighter than expected) and with using the phones original sync cable it all stays out of the way. Also, it seems to recharge the phone rather quickly, even faster that they advertise. At a 20% battery on the iPhone I guesstimate it took about 20-30 minutes to fully recharge. Recharging the Gum Pro Plus seems to take a bit longer than I expected, but the long term reward is worth it. I chose the Plus model over the Gum Pro because of the complaints about the Pros on/off slider switch being a problem. I figured the extra money was worth it for a button that doesn't have those problems and for a model that is more stylish. The only complaint I can come up with is one regarding design and usability. They could reduce the number of cables by using the iPhone proprietary cable for both charging itself and charging the phone.
